it’s a little small, but i should lose a few pounds anyway… 😉
this is NOT me. it is Howard Tayler, the author of Schlock Mercenary. he is also 8 years younger than me.
we have been mistaken for each other for at least 10 years.
recently, i’ve been making “little good luck charms”, and i’ve been “hiding” them in places where people will find them:
i’ve also registered a domain for them: Friendly Swastika dot art, where i’ve posted a web page about my motivation for reclaiming the swastika.
i got my DNA analysed a few years ago.
a couple months ago, i got rosemary’s DNA (my paternal great aunt) analysed. she has the same father as my great grandfather, but her mother is different than my great grandmother.
i figured that we would have some DNA in common, that we could both use to help determine who is part of our family.
apparently, we have ZERO DNA in common:
what the fuck?
ETA: it’s because the DNA analysis was done on our mitochondrial DNA, which, while easier to analyse, is passed through our mothers’ side. she had a different mother than my great grandmother, so there’s no overlap.
i went for a walk. when i returned, he was sitting on our gate post as i walked up. he flew up into a tree…
monique sez that either it’s a dumb baby bird (possible), or he’s not feeling well (also possible). if the latter, he’s chosen the right place to do it… although i don’t know how we’d go about catching him to give him whatever care he might need…
ETA: it’s probably just a dumb baby owl, ’cause it caught a rat and was eating it in the tree, about an hour later. nice owl. we’ll feed you lots of rats if you stay here… 🙂
