as i feared would happen, maria l. daggett, of south nyack, NY, failed to ship my sousaphone mouthpiece on the 20th, as she said she was going to… 8/ now i have to go through the whole process of getting my money back, but i also have to find another sousaphone mouthpiece. damn!

i’ve been feeling tremendously artistic recently, which has culminated in my purchasing a folding easel, but i haven’t been producing much artwork, because everything takes about 4 times as long as it did before my injury, and i keep getting distracted… but that’s partially what the easel is for, because i can work on a drawing for a while, and then leave it and come back to it later and it will be in exactly the same position i left it, which makes it a lot easier to pick up where i left off.

  1. the special enamel sign painters’ paint that covers with one coat and dries hard… it’s what i’ve done my car with, but it’s terrifically expensive, so i’ve only got the colours that are on my car – red, peacock, process green and black… but there are a lot more colours, and apparently they’re all in the “community paint pot”… 8)

  3. there’s a good chance i will do some more on my art car fairly soon, especially since there are going to be no cirque de flambe rehearsals for a couple of weeks (everybody’s going to burning man), and the fact that i recently learned about a “community paint pot” which is made available to the art-car community locally, that has a whole rainbow of different colours of one-shot… and the fact that i’ve recently been going through and collecting all my brushes in one place… 8)

    all may not be lost with the mouthpiece… i just talked with her on the phone, and she said she sent it out today.

  6. Even at distractions and longer times, that’s excellent drawing.

    Too bad about the mouthpiece, though.
