  1. by the way, thank you… the necklaces are the latest product to be added to Hybrid Elephant (but they’re not there yet because of the car fiasco), and they’re $25 each.

  2. it actually appears as though the deer jumped as the car was passing it, because the whole passenger side of the car is crunched in but the front of the car doesn’t have a scratch.

we’ve got insurance up the wazoo because it isn’t actually our car yet (we’re just “taking care of it for the bank” until they decide we can have it, which isn’t gonna happen at this point), and i’m going to take it down to the dealership today to get an estimate. they may fix it, because it’s a new enough car that the value of it may be high enough that the bank can still get money from us if they do, but we won’t know until they look at it… from both moe’s and my point of view, however, there is at least $20k worth of damage, and for a 2005 car that originally cost around $20k, it doesn’t look good.

moe and the dogs are shaken, but okay… moe says apparently when the airbags blow, at the same time the engine automatically stops, so by the time she clipped the tree she was already going slowly enough that she wasn’t hurt. the dogs were in their kennels when it happened, otherwise one or more of them might have gotten hurt.

  3. Oh no!
I hate when that happens…why don’t the animals ever learn that cars are very deadly things!

How is Moe doing? Hows the dogs?

I gather you had an insurance to cover the car damage..?

    PS, very pretty necklaces!

  4. Is the car actually fully totaled?

it appears so, although we haven’t taken it in to the shop yet. first we have to remove all of the dog stuff from inside the car so the shop folks can get a good look at it.

    Is the deer dead?

probably, although it was dark when she hit it, she hit it a glancing blow (and clipped a tree in the process of recovering), and she couldn’t find it afterwards.

  5. stiff, sore and majorly freaked out, but okay… also she had two dogs riding in the car as well, and they’re okay as well.
