i’m sure that whoever painted that banner is sure to realise where the idea originally came from. when i was taking the picture i mentioned that i knew the banner next to it was “legitimate” (it is for the panto Alladin and the Magic Lamp which i took part in last year) but i didn’t know if the “Wump-Faced Bat-Fart Boy” was really legitimate. the response was that “all the banners we have displayed are legitimate”… whether that means that they’re anything close to “real” is another matter entirely, however. 8)
I don’t know how many people realize that poster, and posters like it, are directly inspired by—and owe a huge debt to—Coney Island.
